Note that the written text within an IG competition will supersede any information on this webpage.

ELIGIBILITY

Fully paid-up members of the Club with a HI of 54 or less may take part in Club Competitions.

COMPETITIONS

The results of singles competitions will be issued in 2 divisions unless otherwise stated by the competition secretary. The numbers in each division will be determined by the competition secretary such that the numbers for each division are as close as possible. If there are 20 or less entrants, the standard is to payout for one division only.

In the event of a tie in the Rees/Gregory medal, a playoff to decide the winner of the Rees trophy is played over holes 1, 2, 17 & 18. A tie in the Gregory medal will be decided via countback (see generic rules).

The Cartwright Cup is awarded to the ‘most improved player’.

A prize will be awarded for the most birdies recorded during the Lady Captain’s tenure Any Birdie scored on any hole in a women’s singles or team competition played on a Tuesday or a Saturday that is recorded on IG.  (Excludes Knock Outs/ Mixed events / Wednesday pm Eclectic/ Interclub matches). Open to categories 7, 5, J & CO.

The Golfer of the Year Trophies (GOTY) are awarded in 3 divisions:

Division 1 : 0-22.4

Division 2 : 22.5 – 32.5

Division 3 : 32.6 -  54

The GOTY is based on England Golf’s calculations for the Race to Woodhall Spa and is awarded to the player in each division with the lowest aggregate of four net differentials as determined by the report on the WHS platform. All 18-hole, fully completed, individual, handicap qualifying club competitions played between 1st January and 31st December are included in the calculation.
